We actually have a pan like that we use on the barbecue to cook sausages etc. It was meant for this purpose when we bought it. It is a fairly heavy pan though and doesn't have a wooden handle. Ann Glos

Linda Kitchen ornament did cross my mind. At the far end of the handle, away from the pan, there is a black plastic band and loop so that one can hang it...... Now isn't that useful? Gwyn

Put muddy gravel in the pan. Put pan under a tap. Mud washes away. Return gravel to bottom of aquarium. Another alternative. Send children out to find a garage sale where they could sell it to raise funds for an ice cream Support pan on bricks. Put charcoal in pan. Light charcoal. Put tray from oven over pan. BBQ your sausages. Is thatenough? C

My daughters have been to a sale this morning and bought an item of limited use.....I can't warrant the space for the number of times we will use a 'frying pan' with perforated base,.. supposedly to cook chestnuts....... Alternative ideas please... Pan is metal but the handle is made of wood.
