FTF are aware that some people can't get in but no one seems to know why, sorry.

I'm off work ill so have only just caught up and I'm going back to my sick bed now. I'm not a techie so I'm no help anyway.

Keep trying seems to be the message.

Get better soon Gwynne.

I'm in Hertfordshire, and I can't get in. It's amazing how much washing and ironing I have done this morning!

It's horrid not getting on. It makes you realise how much you rely on it.

This is a copy of a message I've just posted on Tips:

I've just run a traceroute on it - it goes OK for a while, then stops at a north American server, which must be down.

If some people are getting in, it probably depends where they're located and how their ISP connects to the Internet.

im in the Midlands, on talk talk , and IE...and locked out.

there seems little rhyme or reason , just have to wait till it sorts its self i think.

Am talking to one of the 'in crowd' - who are thin on the ground BTW - on MSN -

Who says they do know we are outhere ...and send their love!

Right - try this

Google : Family tree forum

Click on: cached pages

It will bring up another page with multicolured Google on it

right at the bottom, in tiny type there is a tiny weeny address - paste that into search box, and wait- ITS SLOW

see if that gets you in

Sorry - gets you as far as LOG IN then it falls over

....if there is a techie at FTF, maybe they could address a post to this thread, just to put us out of our misery.

meanwhile, I shall avoid domestic chores, maintenance etc and read a book

I think it is something beyond FTF Bob, that is the problem - a server somewhere that some must connect to and not others - not a lot they can do i dont think

How many of us are locked out, Does anyone know?

Christine2

Christine2 Report 17 Nov 2007 13:44

If it's something to do with a server somewhere, how is it that we can get in any other web page we choose? I assume that the rest of you, like me, aren't having any problems with any other site?

Penny

Penny Report 17 Nov 2007 13:45

Quite a lot i think , Chrissie - they know we are, thing is its had to tell - who is trying to log in and wh isn't so I guess there is no telling how many really.

(ie helen the hedgehog maybe locked out, or may have just gone shopping today )

(BTW its members/mods/scads inclusive it seems- almost arbitory
