Hi Rebekah you're in bed early tonight. Been thinking of you. How are you? We got a new bed last week and now the heating is fixed the bed room is lovely, warm and comfy.

Dave thanks for thinking of me.

Second this from Lynn ....
If someone listens, or stretches out a hand, or whispers a word of encouragement, or attempts to understand a lonely person, extraordinary things begin to happen. !!!

thanks for that Karl!!! Am back after being out all day - your troubles are over!!! [or just beginning] Accompanied my pal to Heathrow Airport [from Cardiff] taking her husband who is a comedian/singer/etertainer to join the QE2 - he's doing some shows on it. Catching the evening plane to Zurich and then on to Santiago in Chile to meet up with the ship - tough life eh. I have talked non-stop all day and now have a sore throat so it's a pleasure to type instead!!
Have pm'd you Fi and Carolina
Lots of love, Ann XX

Hiya Carole, sounds a very cosy room :-) Signing off in a min to have a bath, than me and hubby are watching a dvd in bed. I always feel safer upstairs rather than downstairs, maybe Im a bit of a fruit loop, lol.

Jules, If I suspect that I am going to get acid reflux (normally at night) I take just one Gavilast tablet which usually works well.

Well done 15 minutes on the crosstrainer. used to go to the Gym 6 years ago and hated that thing!!! Must have been a sadist who invented it!

Carole, well done for managing the journey into work. I am sure that your boss who doesn't 'do' illness will be twice as bad as everyone else if she is ever ill!

Rebekha
sounds as if you are all tucked up nice and cosy.

Hi folks, well what stories on here.
Caz. your German gent sounds a bit like Mr Trebus on Life of Grime, who had to squeeze into his house through a tiny gap for all the stuff he had hoarded. I am so pleased he was able to see his wife again with your help, what a star you were for helping him and stopping that evil person trying to swindle him out of all his money. Did he find his son too?

I went today to the Counsellor, she seems nice and is taking a different tack to others I have seen, so I hope this time I will move forward somewhat and end up able to tackle my hoarding. Am starting on Feb 20th, one session a week for 4 weeks for her to assess whether she can get somewhere with me, and then go on from there when I will have to contribute to the funds, which I don't mind doing at all, if I am progressing.
Will keep you posted.
Have to have an early night tonight, now don't take this the wrong way you naughty people lol It is o.h's 54th birthday today so I have to make an effort to get up earlier than usual and go out with him, he wants to go to the coast but that means me driving a round trip of about 55 miles, so I am not looking forward to it, in this cold weather. I have booked us in to a favourite restaurant of his at 7pm so at least I won't have to cook when I get back lol
By 9pm we will be home and he will be asleep in the chair, some toy boy!
Keep taking the tablets folks, and doing what makes you happy,

H Irene, this site is definitely addictive, and it is nice to just check in on this thread and keep up with everyone. I hate to go on holiday cos I miss everyone and all the news lol

Rosy, well done for giving up smoking. Anyone who watched Liz Dawn on tv last night, talking about her emphysema (sp) would stop as soon as possible I would think, was awful to see her unable to walk far without a stop, and all because she smoked so much.

Liz, that was the man I wanted to use as an example but couldn't remember his name. Herberts house was exactly like that, including the garden. The only difference was that Herbert was grateful for any help. Glad that you got to see the councilor hope everything goes ok for you.
It's nice to see everyone sounds happier, and welcome to the Happy Club Rosy, because we will be before we've done, you really have had a bad time of it haven't you love. Keep on letting us know how you are feeling, we like it when one of us goes onto the next step up.
Has Carolina been on lately or have I missed her, I wasn't on much last couple of days.

Hi Kerry - welcome aboard the happy thread!!! Well you have done well kicking the weed - I should do it and keep meaning to but haven't got round to it yet - keep telling myself I will. How did you sleep before you gave up the fags? Could it be something to do with nicotine craving? Also, if you are missing coffee take decaffeinated. I only drink decaffeinated from about 2:00 pm onwards. Have never tried Valerian - what about Nytol? Although you can't take this with prescription antidepressants. I'm on Venlafaxine by the way

Hi Ann...
Have always slept well, maybe i should start smoking again (joke).Im so glad ive stopped.Ive just been reading up on anxiety and it says staying asleep is a common part of it so i guess ill have to put up with it untill i next see the doctor.Im not on any prescription tabs so nytol should be ok i might give it a go.Maybe a large wine will help just as well..

steady on Kerry - don't want you joining Alcoholics Anonymous. I think this evening when we get more posters on someone will come on and give you some better advice than I managed to come up with.

Sunny Rosy Report 5 Feb 2008 14:02

kerry i had the very same problem when i gave up 4 years ago, i'd smoked for 45 years.I felt wretched for the first few weeks, not sleeping, anxious and panic attacks, it was the combo of giving up and the patches, but I couldn't have done it without the patches. keep it up honey and things WILL get better. I sleep fine now, except for the bladder waking me up!!! PMSL (no better not!!) he he

AnninGlos Report 5 Feb 2008 14:36

I always feel like an interloper on tis thread as I am fortunate not to suffer from depression or anxiety. (Although as I said pages ago I have friends and relatives who do). Kerry maybe it is the combination of giving up both smoking and coffee that has caused temporary anxiety symptoms. I have read that one of the best things for sleep in horlicks. I think the best thing is not to worry because youa re awake. I often wake up around 3am because my back 'tweaks' and wakes me, then I need the loo. But if I worry because I am awake I then can't get back to sleep. If I just get comfortable and think nice thoughts I find I usually drop off again easily. I have to say it has been much better since we got the new mattress topper which is so warm and cosy that we drop off easily
