Well done Jean. I did make a few cards before we went away but it will be late May before I make any more now. Well done on the cooking.

Is there no one doing crafting, :-( :-( i have been having a great time trying out some ideas, using all manner of card and papers to do some flowery backgrounds,

I managed with a little help from J to make a chicken casserole in the slow cooker, it was very good, so brownie points methinks, mind you I was almost on my knees when I finished ;-) ;-) ;-) hope everyone is tickity boo.

250 various card blanks arrived on Saturday,so plenty to work on now....what I need to do now is find some embellishments, I might do some stamping.unless my ink pads have dried up :-D :-D :-D

AnninGlos Report 9 Apr 2016 17:30

I had some Christmas cards left over but, as I make about 120 I always start around September. I spend more time gardening than card making in the summer as well.

Not got a lot of time free this coming week as, although only just back from Dorset we will be off again next week. This time to madeira so have to get all the Dorset photos cleared from the camera ready to take Madeira photos. :-D

I have just been reading all your great ideas, away from just card making. They sound very interesting - I like the door hanger idea and card holders.........
As for Christmas items, here I need to hide away .......I have already made some Christmas cards ....... my reasoning is that when the weather gets (hopefully) warmer, I shall spend more time doing things like gardening. I don't fancy a last minute rush!! :-0
Hope all of you are well :-) Ann x

Hi Jean,
I made some decorated writing paper in a matching box folder for a friend which went really well (you need a friend who still enjoys the old fashioned hobby of writing 'real' letters!)

Ann,
I have tried using watercolour pencils but not very successfully, my paper always crinkles even though it is watercolour paper, perhaps I need to pay more. :-)

JustJean Report 7 Apr 2016 19:51

Ann is right, I give all my cards to various charies, hospice, tenants fund, special need centre, dementia club.I used to sell them many years ago but now everone makes them so not profitable now...I would sooner give them away its just a hobby for me,

my friend has just told me the dementia club has sold all the cards and would like some more if possible, great chance to make more ;-) ;-) ;-) I have just ordered 250 mixed cardbllanks, so very timely methinks... ;-) ;-) ;-)

I think Jean mostly does things for charity shops Ann but I might be wrong.

I know it is very early Jean but what about starting on making some sort of advent calendar for littlie?

Winifred

Winifred Report 7 Apr 2016 16:35

Jean I do the little boxes Ann mentioned. Also I've started decorating letters. The letters are made from lightweight wood.....you can get chipboard ones too. Or door hangers for children's rooms. Not done these but could be something else. What are you needing the ideas for. Are they to sell? I do altered notebooks too. Anything really to extend my range from just cards. Hope this helps.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 7 Apr 2016 09:22

What about those little boxes you can buy in Hobbycraft to put small gifts in Jean? You can also buy little frames, handbag mirrors etc to put pictures in, and key rings but they are a bit small really for what you want.

I must get back to scrap booking, ages since I did any, should be doing some pages of Adam. :-)

I had watercolour pencils Ann, I didnt use them much, finally sent them to Dizzi, she had sent me a picture so the pencils were a thank you...

Ann2 what was the stamp you were trying to get? I have many so who knows I may have it let me know....

I was wondering if any one has ideas to do something other than cards , I have done scrapbooking, decorated bags, also decorated small notebooks and decorated photo frames ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) I had thought maybe some chipboard stuff but any ideas would do....

AnninGlos Report 6 Apr 2016 22:54

Yes ann you can put in web site links. That one sounds interesting, I will have a look when I get home.

Jean I have oens that have dried up, frustrating if you don't use them all the time isn't it? Same with ink pads.

I think I would be too impatient eith water colour paint as it would have to dry begore you went on to the next bit zi think. Anyone use watercolour pencils? I do have some of those, not yet used!
