Hi fellow Knitwits :-D ;-)

I knitted yesterday in the shade , but it rained solidly for most of last night and today with thunder rumbling around. Looking forward to a night I am not woken up at 2 in the morning by thunder and lightening

Great to hear you are almost clicking again Mersey:-D <3

Helping a neighbour with an open garden over the next few weeks and as I will be on the gate at least I can take my knitting and make it less boring:-D I hear the forecast is for the weather to warm up again next week here :-S

Hi Knitwits <3 :-D

Phew who's knitting in this heat :-S it's just been so muggy here .

Yes Mersey ... gone loom band crazy here, every time the grandchildren come it's nanny can we make loom band bracelets even though they make them at home .

Nooooo Mersey and Ann crocheting is easy :-D if you can knit with two needles you'd easily do crocheting ........ it's just one hook !! :-D :-D

AnninGlos i'am very tempted to have a go at the card making ,i've watched the craft channel and some of the cards they show are so beautiful .

Phew it's hot , i'am off to the freezer to pinch one of the Grandchildrens lollies :-D

Hi Ann Today I must agree with you and even I haven't done any knitting. You are right about the beautiful wool. I think a good wool shop can be more tempting than a sweet shop :-D Like most good hobbies you can also feel you are doing something constructive.

I would have liked to have a go at weaving but that would really set off my cough

Good morning knitwits. I do like knitting but find I don't ever do it in summer as it makes me feel too hot. (all that wool Lol). The trouble is card making took over rather from knitting. I did make a couple of baby jumpers last year but little one grows so fast and has so many people to buy him clothes that I gave up. I also tried crochet but can't get on with it. Maybe this winter I shall go back to knitting now there is so much lovely wool around again.

Mersey - Maybe your Mum thinks that absence will make you grow fonder of your knitting :-D or maybe she is stuck as well and doesn't want to admit it :-D :-D

Hi Sarah lovely to see you posting....... :-)

K I still haven't got my knitting back LOL....I have dropped a few hints
as I can see it in the front room still in the bag when I visit ;-)

I have been looking on youtube at crocheting for beginners !!! oooeeerrrr
to complex for me :-D

Mandy my two little nephews are loom crazy at the moment, not an Ipad in
sight.......I have asked for a pink one, but they keep telling me boys dont do pink LOL :-D

Hi Island - Oh I do know the feeling with unfinished projects. Love the term UFO's. :-D :-D I do hope the jumper is finished this summer. A few years ago I tried an American pattern and had to give up in the end because the instructions were just beyond me :-S I still have green linen yarn that I am looking for a use for.

Welcome to Knitwits Sarah :-D I can never resist wool either. I do find a wool shop far more compulsive than a clothes shop. When OH asks if I am knitting something new I can always say I have had it in a drawer for ages, which is usually true :-D

Mandy - Looked up loom band bracelets and they look really pretty. Lovely day today and had a lovely afternoon outside knitting in the shade. Great of watching the birds. One blackbird has decided that as I sit still I must be part of the scenery :-D :-D

Hi K, I have a few UFOs (unfinshed objects) as per but I'm keen to finish a lacy cotton jumper before the summer ends so I'll get to wear it this year! Then I might move on to *whispers* christmassy stuff to avoid the December panic.

Hi Sarah, welcome to the boards :-D Coming out of a wool shop empty handed would be just rude! LOL

I do both knitting and crochet.. I've been doing it since I was about 4 years old - about 30 years now.

I went to a wool show recently and, as you do, bought way too much :-D

I mostly do beanies, scarves, blankets and jumpers / vests.

K Report 15 Jul 2014 06:16

I had never heard of loom band bracelets so googled them and they are really pretty :-D

No knitting for me either yesterday. OH is away for the week and trying to catch up on jobs, plus I have all watering. Resolution to get up early and finish early today so will have time for knitting :-D :-D

Yes i think knitwits is just the right name for us :-D :-D

It's quite funny you should say that because that's the name of our local wool shop too :-D :-D
Now that's a good idea K ,use shaggy wool then you don't see any mistakes LOL :-D :-D

No clicking of needles here as i have been making the loom band bracelets with the grandchildren .

Much better day here lots of lovely sun after all the rain the last couple of days

K

K Report 12 Jul 2014 18:26

Hello Island :-D

Love being called knitwits :-D What are you crocheting at the moment?

I wish I was as good as you both at unpicking every mistake. However at the moment the wool is so shaggy it is difficult to tell which side, never mind find any errors! :-S

I wish we had your rain Mandy. It looks like the forecast rain will disappear before it gets to us and I will have to get the hose out again

Hello knitwits :-D

I haven't hand knitted for a while but I do lots of crochet.

Mandy, I know exactly what you mean about unpicking 'tiny' mistakes. I know it's there and it has to be rectified!

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 11 Jul 2014 19:08

Oh K i love that teal color and Plum does go well with so many things .

Mersey , at last you noticed your mistake before going any further ,it's not easy to have to unpick inches and inches of all your hard work ( sorry i'am not into metric :-D) and knitting up with the wool that has gone all crinkled !!

I have to unpick even if it's only a tiny tiny mistake and probably no one would even notice it , but i know it's there if you know what i mean so i just have to do it .

No sitting in the shade here :-( yesterday it poured all day and today it has been drizzle all day :-(

K

K Report 10 Jul 2014 15:56

Mersey - Don't worry - you are sharing something with your Mum which is great. :-D I am sure she will get it back on track and will enjoy doing it!! Just ask her to check it more often. I unpick my own work frequently :-(

Sunny day today so I am sitting in the shade clicking away while OH snores. :-D
We tackled a 10 ft conifer hedge this morning so it's a relief to sit down.

Mersey Report 10 Jul 2014 14:43

K I have a confession.....my knitting is in the hands of Mum LOL....a basic pattern she said, I haven't a clue were I went wrong :-S so she is undoing whatever I have done wrong and then will give me it back :-(.....

I knitted the scarfs mainly in teal/blue mixes and other colours for friends, but the most useful has been a plum which seems to go with everything. I have become allergic to wool so sadly can't wear it or knit much with it. I also mainly knit outside as most knitting inside sets my asthma off :-S. So I am opposite of most knitters and do very little in the winter. We used to keep sheep and I would have loved to have been able to spin their wool

Congratulations on the new grandchild :-D and lovely to have a new project to look forward to and so many other children to knit for. Many years ago I knit a Shetland shawl for a friend, but with all the holes for little fingers to get stuck always thought it really wasn't as practical as a blanket. I do envy you living near to the sea. It's the only thing I miss living in the centre of the UK

How is your knitting going Mersey - Is it growing:-D
