Sarah Jane Staples was born at Middlesbrough on 4th July 1966 and relatives in Australia would love to get in touch with Sarah.
Any information would be so much appreciated.

I see her mother was unmarried at the time so odds are her surname changed.

Do you know her mother's name? Was Sarah adopted? More info. would help.

Sarah Jane's mother was called Maureen Staples and Sarah was not adopted. Sarah and her mother lived in the Middlesbrough area and Sarah married Andrew John Smith on 30th July 1988 at St. Barnabas Church, Middlesbrough.

Have you tried the street search option on FR? You might locate a neighbour at least.

Thanks for the suggestion but another family member has tried that and has also written a letter to the last known address (1988) but no success .... . Have found that Maureen Staples married a Colin Evans (such a pity that both 'girls' married into families with 'common' surnames

Not seeing any Smith children with MMN born in Middlesbrough.

Colin has the middle initial G though.

Think Colin's middle name may be Gilbert but other than details of their marriage in 1968, I don't seem to be able to find further details of them either .....

That sounds feasible and may give me another option to see if anyone has them on their tree so subsequently can ask 'maybe' a family member ....

There was a son born in the correct district in 1970. He's on 192.com
Middle name is the same as Maureen's dad's middle name so I think he must be Maureen and Colin's son.

Hi Rose,
Many thanks for this information - I've followed the link and the it certainly seems a feasible possibility.
I've now got a couple of leads to follow thanks to you ladies and to Fred so many, many thanks to you all. I've appreciated all the help, suggestions and advice you've given me
