Had you thought of looking in the Eire phone book?

http://www.eircomphonebook.ie

There is one entry there for John Mckeon in Tipperary. Although there is a phone number, there isn't address.

If you were thinking of contacting him on the off-chance, a letter is preferable to a phone call out of the blue.

http://www.192.com has 2 ER entries in the UK

https://www.livingrelativesearch.co.uk has one in Rhyl LL18

Both the above are pay to view, and there is no guarentee they are for the correct person.

If you decide to write, just say something along the lines of a person of his name being previously married to a *relative* Phyllis Gillan and was there any connection?

the company i used for tracing relatives found a match for both his year of birth 1930 and with the middle initial R and also fathers name of John Mckeon.

If this is the correct John Robert Mckeon he also has a 2nd middle name and is registered as John Mary Robert Mckeon born on 09.06.1930 at dublin rotunda hospital
Father: John Mckeon
Mother: Ellen Mckeon Nee O'Hara

residing at 30 North Clarence Street, Dublin.
They also checked marriage records and found 3 which they didn't feel belonged to him?
They have now finished there search and although i have great info from my grandmothers side, i really was hoping for a little more on my grandfather to see if i can find him or know a little about his past.

where should i go from here with my search?? Please help.

Thanks for your post.

John Robert Mckeon is listed as a Labourer at oil refinery and his Father John Mckeon is listed as a Labourer in a bottling company.

i do appologise i have 2 post going here is my recent one which i will delete
Hi I have been searching for my grandfather for some time now and just don't seem to get anywhere. His name is John Robert McKeon born in Dublin around 1930 had links to Liverpool and Kent where he met and married my nan Phyllis Gillan. They had 2 children Theresa and Carol. They last saw him around 1965 when he visited Kent but no further contact was made.
I contacted a company to start my ancestry root hoping it may lead to other relatives of his but they only came up with what they think is his birth certificate based on his age on my nans and his marriage certificate which they were married in 1953 and states he is 23. they found a John Mary Robert Mckeon with the fathers name that matched the marriage record and the same birth yr, Mothers name Ellen McKeon Nee O'Hara born in Dublin and this was it? so now im at a stand still again and don't know where to go next? My mum his daughter is on the lung transplant list and i know it would really put her mind at rest just to know if he's alive? did he have any other family? or what happened to him? i hope you can assist me with this and give me some direction.

Kindest regards

The birth certificate they found states 09.06.1930

also thank you patchem for replying also how can i change the heading as this could be possible.

If we have an exact date of birth, then we can search for deaths up to 2006 on ancestry (in this country)
However, there are no John Mckeon deaths showing born in 1930.
Could he have gone back to Ireland - if so, put Ireland in your heading so that those with knowledge of Irish records could help?
