Yes. When I knew her she was probably around late 50s or early 60s but being a callow teenager she just appeared to me to be old. I also remember that she left the firm where we worked after I had been there for a couple of years.
I have just found in the 1901 census a family called Walters from Woking Surrey who had two children William aged 6 and Emily aged 5. I am now starting to wonder if this was my Emily. I have a feeling that she may have had a brother.
So they were not the children of my grandfather after all but of some other previously unsuspected branch of the Walters family.
Research continues!
