Shirley,

You should mention his parents full names. If he ever comes searching on Google or whatever, he will be looking for Leslie Arthur Lomer and Margaret McAuley.

Thanks Rose, I'm getting terribly confused so have not been on here for a while. It is really upsetting as I cannot find out how Terrence was adopted, something to do with the vicar and the courts in Belfast! No one seems to know or they are keeping schtum! Thanks for you advice though any help is accepted. Regards Shirley.

Adoption Agencies and the Courts have to keep schtum. :-0

Only the adoptee (Terence) can apply for access to his adoption records. As his adoptive parents might have changed his name or added a new 2nd one, the best you can do it to try to find the Agency who handled the adoption, and ask that a letter you've written to be put on his file.

That way, if he ever accesses them, he will know that someone has an interest in him.

In the mean time, you could
- use the search all trees facility on this site to see if someone else has him listed.
- search on facebook or other social media sites under his birth name. He also may be looking for birth family and using that as a medium
- make sure that GR always has your current email address, even if you no longer subscribe. That way, if he should ever 'pick up' his or his birth parent's names on an internet search, he can contact you via GR by clicking on your name here.

I think this is the link for the adoption contact register for Northern Ireland:
