Brilliant cross-communication.

Reggie Report 16 Jul 2012 09:23

Michael clearly has not read the message carefully - just jumped to
an erroneous conclusion..............

And now where is he?

Huffing and puffing somewhere in 'righteous' indignation, I shouldn't wonder

jax Report 16 Jul 2012 03:24

Well...Unless Michael has another explaination about the message he/she must be the Organization who wants to walk their dog :-D

I have a cat but she is a house cat, so cat flap is no good to me :-)

KINGSMILL Report 16 Jul 2012 03:10

I got thanks but they wanted verification it was the correct person.

But they only had to email the website so they could get in contact or ring the mobile number.
If it is the wrong person, they can come back to the original thread & we could look again.

Tried looking under freelance journalists ie for something she published but could find nothing ........ of course will have been pre-internet days & nothing recent.

Bought a cat flap today at a car boot sale & I do not have a cat ! :-S

jax Report 16 Jul 2012 02:47

Obviously Michael did not read your reply properly Kingsmill :-D

Now I see where the walking the dog came from

Did Michael thank you by any chance ;-)

Edit- Thats not bad cat sitting for free have to get her number :-D

KINGSMILL Report 16 Jul 2012 02:34

I am the IDIOT !!!

I do not know WHY Michael/Jill is so overwrought.

A namesake they were seeking, is on GOOGLE,
the one mentioned in LONDON, & I sent the link.

It lists her mobile telephone number etc.

This lady has also a LONDON address
The postal code patchem mentioned

ENGLISHWOMAN. Retired carer, now ex-pat(live in Spain now)

to care for your pet/s in their own home during the Easter and Summer holidays. Completely free of charge in exchange for accommodation. I love cats-have a siamese- and will take loving care of your pet/s and your home. I have experience doing this and can provide references. Please email or call for further details

Michael/Jill has had this data since 25th JUNE

I sent the link
Michael/Jill then asks where I got the data from !!!!

. :-S

Sorry Gai... I deleted as I had more or less said it before

Gai Report 16 Jul 2012 01:54

Agree Jax, it's very strange.

Gai Report 16 Jul 2012 01:39

Jax is right. You would have to be a paying member to send a pm.

Now under the T&C's on GR wouldn't this member of breached them under section 11.

You also agree not to advertise or promote third parties' or your own goods or services including by way of the distribution of "spam" email. In particular, you agree not to use the Genes Reunited Service to provide links to third party websites. We do not guarantee or endorse any content posted on the Genes Reunited Service by members.

So in my opinion reading the paragraph above this person has breach the T&C's and should be reported to GR.

jax Report 15 Jul 2012 23:46

Anyone who replied either by PM or on the thread is a paying member just like yourself.

There is nothing in the rules that says everyone has to be helpful I'm affraid....although most are

If they were rude and insulting then you may have cause to report them

Reggie Report 15 Jul 2012 23:29

If Michael is referring to a PM, there must have been a member's name on the message

He seems unduly het-up about it..............he could have sent an appopriate reply to the sender.

jax Report 15 Jul 2012 23:24

True Reggie

But how can a non member reply to a posting on these boards?

Unless it was some idiot who thought they would make a joke of the request...maybe because Battersea was mentioned?

Reggie Report 15 Jul 2012 23:14

This site is NOT secure.....

jax Report 15 Jul 2012 22:38

How can organizations contact you if only members can reply? unless you posted your email address on your post?

Is this the thread?

jax Report 15 Jul 2012 22:26

Where is this thread?

Never heard of anything like that happening before

Michael Report 15 Jul 2012 22:22

yes on this site

jax Report 15 Jul 2012 21:59

Where did you post this? not on this site I take it?

Michael Report 15 Jul 2012 20:46

Beware!!! I recently posted a search for a lost relative and got a reply from organizations seeking to walk my dog. Not only is it unhelpful I feel it is downright insulting. :-P
