There was no informant only the coroner. Sad isn't it? A Genes member has found details of a person who could be aunt Lorna's daughter so I am going down that route at the moment.

Many thanks

Lynne

Re. death cert. I assume the informant is unconnected to the family.
You presumably have an address for Lorna.
Have you tried contacting neighbours - although a while back it's possible there is still someone living there who remembers the family (my mother has lived in the same house since 1963!).

Have you tried Facebook for his daughters?

Or Friends Reunited?

Still no joy finding Robert. Sent for Aunt Lorna's death certificate; she had been found dead at home, no information about her son on it.
Found an old letter from Uncle Ernest where he talks about his grandaughters Amanda and Sarah so have now found their birth records.
However still no sign of Robert anywhere. Having been in the Navy of course he could be anywhere.
Joined Forcesreunited as suggested - again no information from them.
Not quite sure where to go next.

Thank you both. Checking Aunt Lorna's death cert. is a good idea - I haven't done that yet. I have searched trees; have also done a search through Ancestry without success.
ForcesReunited sounds good - didn't know there was one.

Thank you

Lynne
p.s. Last saw Robert when I was about 5 but other cousins have seen him since but not since his father (my uncle died).

Have you tried the obvious first step?

Search trees on here...................

Second step......ForcesReunited

Third.....Friends Reunited

Lynne, chances of him or anyone who knows him seeing this is pretty remote.

When and where did you last see him? I think these might be his parents - if so, and you have no other avenues to explore, you might consider getting Lorna's death cert to see who registered it:

Trying to make contact with Robert Bentham cousin, son of Ernest Bentham of Market Drayton, Shropshire. I understand Robert was a CPO in the navy.
Would love to make contact.

Lynne (daughter of Donald Bentham, Ernest's brother)
