If she was adopted then you would need to know her new name.

Have you tried Search Trees to see if she is listed on anyones tree

I have Elizabeths birth cert which I ordered from GRO. There was never any contact with her after the adoption as far as I know. Apparently Elizabeth was the result of a one night stand with a man who was a "friend" to the man that Elizabeths mother married in 1949.Elizabeths mother was Lilian F Pearce and she married Walter Hill in 1949. He told her he would not marry her unless she had the baby adopted out, pretty harsh huh? I know what I would have told him! Lilian and Walter then went on to have one more child ,Carol, who was to be politically incorrect, born a spastic. This child died in her twenties. Family stories state this was Wally Karma. Apparently this would have been Walters second marriage when he married Lilian. I guess Elizabeths surname changed after adoption so I don't think I will ever find her. Thanks again. Linda

if she stayed in the same area theres a marriage in 1964 that may fit.Or one in 1967 different reg district

Her birth should be on FreeBMD.It may help that she was Elizabeth A

Was she adopted? or did your mother know her? when was the last contact with her?
