Hi all, desperate for help, my dad who has now passed away, had a child in the late 50's early 60's All i know is she was female and born in America ( he had her out of wedlock whilst in the navy) I have nothing too go on except that it was female... Is there anyway i can trace all my Dad's siblings through here? I don't know her forename or surname ( although she may have taken Dad's surname.

Can anyone help me??? Please??

Terri :-)

Your father's siblings are/were his brothers and sisters

Did he pay maintenance for the child he fathered?

Who gave you the 'info' about this child?

I don't know about US regulations, but, in the UK, the father has to be present when the birth is registered for an illegitimate child to be given his surname

Hi, sorry I'm looking for my fathers children!!

That i know of he didn't pay maintenance, My dad told us that he had her she also did come too England once as her mother came here.

I am so lost I have just looked at overseas births on here and have found something around the date but cant read what it says and not eve sure I'm looking in the right place... I thought there would have been somewhere i could find my Dad's children..??

I hope it doesnt remain a forever mystery...

Terri, can you 'untick' where it says 'mark as answered' that is only used when the query has been completed rather than for replies to individual posts and if helpers see the tick they may not look at the thread. Thanks.

Is there no one in the family who might know something, perhaps an old friend who may remember the mother's visit? It's going to be very difficult without more info, unless she is looking for you, in which case putting your dad's full name on here will show up on Google if she ever looks ( assuming she knows it).

seems you managed it Terri, as the tick has gone :-D

The only other suggestion I can make is that maybe trying to trace any friends of your dad that served with him in the navy might lead to one who knew about his relationship at the time and might know the names and location?
