I have traced part of my paternal line back to John Font and Catherine (m/s Rooney) Font who emigrated from Dublin, Ireland to Newcastle, England about 1868/69.

They had 7 children:
James (b. 1867, Dublin)
John (b. 1870, Newcastle)
Mary Ann (b. 1871, Newcastle)
Francis (b. 1873, Newcastle)
Martin (b. 1875, Newcastle)
Patrick (b. 1878, Newcastle)
Catherine (b. 1880, Newcastle)

Martin (1875) emigrated to Canada in about 1891. The spelling of his name changed to Faunt.

Patrick married Catherine Dillon in 1915.

All the offspring, except Martin, remained in England, as far as we know.

I would be so happy to hear from anyone who is related to this family. I have some information from the Canadian side of the pond and would love to know about those who stayed in "the old country".
