I am looking for any news on Sidney John Thomas Dawson who lived in Barnehurst London in the 60's. He was an electrical engineer and I believe that he was living in Holmsdale Grove until around 1986 running an Electrical repair shop. I think his Mother's maiden name was Crockett and that he was born in Basford, Nottinghamshire in 1940. In around 1967/68 he was separated from his wife and had no children but attempted a reconciliation with her after this date. I think his wife's maiden name was Ewing and that they married in Hammersmith In April, May or June of 1956. Any information would be appreciated.

The marriage that you mention is of a Sidney J, not Sidney J T. There are other marriages for Sidney J T. How sure are you of it?
Could you explain your connection to him?
Thank-you.

I'm certain of the details of the breakup and subsequent reunion, and also of where he was living and what he did for a living. The marriage is the closest one I can find to fit not knowing his wife's first name. I'm 100% certain that he was childless in 1968, he's my dad and I would be the eldest. Thank you for pointing that out :-)

There are at least 2 children to the Dawson/Ewing marriage, in 1957 and 1959 in Hammersmith. Therefore that must be the wrong marriage.
(Also, he would have been only 16 at marriage, legal but very young)
I will pm the other 2 marriages, in Bexley in 1965 and 1972.
Have you got his birth certificate for names of parents?
The marriage certificate should give the occupations and fathers' names, to help in confirming the correct person.

Got your PM's thank you very much. I think the other one with the two marriages may be him but no I don't have his birth certificate although I'm trying to track it down if that's possible, Many of my family still live in Bexley so it may involve a trip up there x

You say you THINK he was born in 1940. Are you sure of this or have you found his birth and are stating those details?

If you are correct about his name, he appears to be in 192.com
