If the birth that I posted is correct (Dec quarter 1913) then none of those deaths are correct - or person registering death got birth date wrong.

1911: terrific. This must be them On first marr. cert. GEW's address is given as Ilford.

Not certain about Muriel Weaver -there are no parents on her marriage cert so would be difficult to check.

Re birth and death dates. Quite so. Who's to know.

If you get Muriel's birth certificate for Mother's name, then you can try and
find marriage for Mother, and possible half-siblings for Muriel, who may have further information.

Alternatively, 'Muriel Weaver' has her name in her tree on here, born Oxford, now using the surname of a marriage of Muriel W Walters to Brierley in 1977.

Thank you. This must be right marriage: Helen Kate appears in 1911.

Muriel Weaver: I have already ordered marr cert Weaver/Brierley to check that she is a widow/divorcee and therefore, ours.

Jane

What does 'Muriel Weaver has her name in her tree on here' mean?

Jane

Jane Report 23 Feb 2013 11:12

Muriel Weaver: can I take it that Muriel W Weaver who married GEW is one and the same as Muriel Walters who married Wm Brierley in 1977?

Go to 'Search' top right.
Click on Search All Trees.
Enter the name Muriel Weaver 1940.
You will find that one person has Muriel Weaver in her tree. If you click on 'Find out more' you will find she is Muriel Brierley.
I think she joined genes in about 2007 so may no longer be a member or have the same email address, but you can try to contact her.

Your question about the 2 marriages - it is always best to get the certificates. However they do look to be the same person.

Do you have an email address for Muriel Breirley?

Jane

Jane Report 24 Feb 2013 17:38

Sorry-I meant Brierley.

patchem

patchem Report 24 Feb 2013 22:27

You send her an email via genes. genes will not release people's addresses, they will just notify them of a message. So you click on her name and send her a message. And then sit and wait with crossed fingers.

I tried to send message to Muriel Brierley and up came a red message saying 'Messages must have a recipient'. What am I doing wrong?

patchem

patchem Report 25 Feb 2013 18:26

When you say that you tried to send her a message, did you do it via the 'Find out more' button, as I tried to describe, above?

Jane

Jane Report 26 Feb 2013 09:35

I have sent message. Many thanks. Should she reply where do I find the message?

If there is no response I suppose there is no way I can find her address? Have tried electoral rolls at www.192.com.

If she replies, you should get an email from GR telling your that she has sent you a reply. There will be a link to click on within the email which takes you to your GR 'inbox'

If you receive a PM via GR you will notice a purple box at the top of the screen with a number in it. It would be above the word 'Messages'

You can always check if the one you sent has been read by looking at your own GR 'Sent message' box. Unread messages have an envelope icon next to them.
