If you think Dennis's father was called Frances, then this marriage still stands:

Gordon Florence E Hume Leeds 9b 582

and Births for Joan in 1924 and Brian G in 1930.

gosh - thank you all for your help I do believe dennis's father was called frances just a bit confused about siblings as my mother in law said he was the only child (perhaps she was wrong) I will look at your suggestions . thanks a lot.

There is only one birth in Leeds..........

But...........the fact that he married in Leeds does not necessarily indicate that he was born there.

Post feedback on here, please, Patricia.....

However, if he WAS born in Leeds, it is highly likely that he had two older siblings, one of each gender.

Does your husband know the names of his grandparents, and/or has he the marriage certificate of his parents?

i have been trying to trce dennis hume who lived in the moortown areaof leeds. he was married to margaret Jane till in 1955 and my husband david was born in 1956.they divorcedand lost contact.I believe dennis was serving in REME in the army not sure ifhe is still living butwouldappreciate any help or information. thankspat
