I have recently found out that I have a half brother his name is Daniel and his mum's name is Carol who was born in 1959. He was born in 1977! We share the same father his name is Warren Lee. He was born in Nottingham.

Since our grandpa has died and I have recently had a daughter I need to find him and get to know him.

Hope you can help! I know it's a long shot! This is all the information I have .

Do you know what Carols surname was?

Anna

Anna Report 2 Jul 2013 21:26

I think it was Smith.

Just had a search on the births and found a Daniel Alexander Lee born in 1979 and mothers surname Smith

But what do I do now?

If your father did not marry his mother, how do you know he was given your fathers name?

Lee and Smith are very common names

You said initially that he was born in 1977, but the birth you found was 1979.
Do you know if 1977 is definite, in which case the wrong birth?
Just trying to rule out the impossible.

I see you have put him in your tree born 1979 Nottingham

There are a few marriages between Lee and Smith in Nottingham that could be his parents also

I know my father was around 20 when he was born which works out to be 1979

But you don't know that he took your fathers name.....or do you?

Is your father still alive to ask?

If your dad wasnt married to his mum then the birth will be in her name. His surname may also appear in the indexing IF he was present at the birth registration and acknowledged he was the dad
