Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 25 Jul 2013 15:55

No you have to buy certs for its info I,m afraid. But following through she did marry Sydney Wilkinson in 1984.the records follow her through the marriage to Wetherell. then to Sydney .

Looks like she had a brother in 1949

Look on FreeBMD under Peacock mmn Thornton.

Can't identify her mum and dads death certs as their ages not known.but the informant on their death certs could be her or her brother.

Hiya Shirley. You are a star for checking all this for me. xx

Right, so now I need to find out where she died, where she is buried and why she died.
Oooooh, and if she had any other children (in addition to me) or siblings.

xxxx

Hi again Shirley, Oohhhh Not sure on her exact birth date. (Is there anyway to see the info/certificates without having to send off for them? Example: Is there a website that has the proper copies logged?)

Possible death?: To be honest, i'm pretty open minded that she might have already died. :-( It's something that had already crossed my mind when I first started all this.

Thank you once again for your help xxx

Sorry Sharon. but it looks like that's her in 1996,

Her birth date quoted would fit with her birth qtr of 1944

Well that ties with the marriage of Norman Peacock to Muriel Thornton in 1943

And her age of 20. In 1964 ties with that 1944 birth .

Good afternoon everyone.
My father & mother's marriage certificate arrived in the post today. :-)
The details are: Date of marriage. 03/10/1964 . My mother was 20yrs of age, Spinster, residence in Skipton, her Father's name NORMAN PEACOCK.
(I am hoping that his name ties in with all the info you kind people have provided so far).

Reggie: Is Norman the fathers name on the marriage of Suzanne in 1984??

Thank you all once again for your help xx

Will send 1984 marriage info by PM...........

SharonF

SharonF Report 17 Jul 2013 13:19

Hi Reggie. Thank you very much for that. Just read the PM. It's looking like you are most certainly right with those names and dates. You are the second person to mention them.
I have ordered the original marriage licence for my father & mother (fingers crossed that it arrives in the post this weekend) so hopefully that should give me her fathers name, I can then be 100% sure :-)

I can't express how much I appreciate all the help I've received so far. XX

Hi Shirley & Brummiejan. Thank you both so much . . You are absolute stars x :-D
Right, I'm off to buy the cert from the gro website . ;-)
I'll be back, xx

You can buy the marriage cert from the GRO - it will cost £9.25:

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

If the birth found by Shirley is correct, there is one possible sibling as far as I can see. With this name you have a very good chance of tracking one of them down.

Once you have the cert you can proceed with more confidence.

I have looked for a marriage for your mother under the name of Suzanne Fairhurst (no middle initial) but there is nothing likely as far as I can see.

Well your first port of call is to get their marriage cert

buy it from www.gro.gov.uk use the refs I posted for the marriage

You have to register on the site, free then follow the order form you only need to put one of the parties names but do use it as its listed .

Tick the box where asked that you have the GRO ref and then use the detail from the ref I have given for their marriage

Certs cost £9.25 with the GRO ref .

When you have the cert then come back to THIS thread so we can follow it on with the details you will then have

Hi Shirley. Thanks so much for that. No marriage cert unfortunately. My dad didn't keep anything at all that involved my mother, this is why i'm having real trouble tracking her down now. I have no info or pictures or anything.
