I am searching for Patricia, who was a training nurse in Liverpool in 1963.Patricias mother was a magistrate and her father ran a shop. This is what I have been led to believe and hope to find her.

Welcome to the boards, Peter.

If she was a 'training nurse' in 1963, what year do you believe she was born in?

Thank-you

Peter

Hiya.
Sorry for the delay in replying.
Patricia margaret Pilkington is my birth mother.
I believe she was born in 43-44
I was adopted out after the 6 week stay at the mother baby home.
My birth name was John

Unlikely to be training as a nurse aged 10 :-S

Have you looked for a birth or marriage for her?

Do you have your adoption file? The info. in there would be useful.

I see you have her as Patricia Margaret which narrows things down.

There's a birth in 1943 in Leigh.

There is a birth in Leigh, Lancashire in 1943 not showing on free bmd (which shows a Don Valley birth in end of 1943 or 1944)

There is a possible marriage for her in Garstang in 1964, to Mr Jones. But that is a long way from Liverpool.

Patchem- there is also a marriage in Leigh for a Patricia M Pilkington in 1965.

She is listed on 2014 electoral register, still living in Leigh

Gritty,

The marriage in Leigh in 1965 comes up on ancestry as Patricia H, so I missed it. (In fact, looks more like H than M, so understandable)

Surely the Leigh one is the most likely?

Link to article about her possible husband sent by pm.

Peter hasn't said whether he has his adoption file to confirm whether the Leigh one is correct.

She had 3 children, one of whom was also called John.

I'm sorry. You guys are amazing.
Yes I do have my file, as much that it's one page ( not knowing if that's standard ).

Patricia was a resident at the nurses home of Astley hospital, Leigh. Then moved to 14 Holly Road which was a catholic protection society home. I was born at Broadgreen hospital.

Please don't contact her directly. Use a third party. Chances her family don't know about you.

Good luck.

Thanks Rose.
I've read a lot of sites on first contact and its a 50/50 attitude to such interaction.
Everyone's input to my quest has proven invaluable. Your all amazing. This is only the first real chance of finding my mother so I'm staying open minded but positive at the same time.
