after searching the birth records for a relative, what do you do next? How can I get in touch with that person to see if it is actually the person I am looking for? Any advise would be appreciated.

depends when they were born

You may have to purchase the birth cert or try to follow them though to see any further records like marriage etsc

Hi Nicola and welcome to the boards.

Would i be correct in assuming that this person is still living?

If you would like to click on my can then send me a personal message, giving me all the details you know about this person and perhaps we can go from there?

The circumstances of the birth will dictate what your next action should be.............
