The way to find relatives on GR is to look in 'search all trees'................for which you'll need to know when they were born

One to work on....................

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 20 Sep 2013 08:31

I found my hubby's grans brother on there he died in Aden in WW1 and isn't claimed.

I tried to claim him for the family but they wanted info I couldn't provide as all his generation have long passed away . I gave up .

Edit he was born in Southern Ireland so no hope of getting a birth cert or anything that could help

Hello Shirley,

Oh what a shame on this one. I came across the 'ad' by chance today whilst looking at the site. It was a source of great pleasure that I found the information on my uncle killed in WW2 and buried where the plane came down in France. There are the full crew of 7 with headstones and named and are the only Commonwealth Graves in that cemetery. they are tended by the parishoners.

But this is about WW1 and I thought it helpful to know that they are searching for the relatives. Only that and no other reason. We never really know what goes on behind the scenes of those who tend the graves of unknown persons.

It's a pity you gave up though. I might have the same problem now that they have found my grandfather died WW1. I have waited nearly 9 months for this information to be released to me - promised next month - all in Russian.

I do hope some of the families look in and find the Wills of their relatives. It would be good to have some positive feedback.

Thank you for sharing you information.
