I am trying to find a Michael kay born in 1979 in co durham , his mother is clare Appleton/kay , my grandmother was ruth kay who died in 1958 , thanks anne

If you know she is his mother and her maiden name was Appleton.....what has she got to do with the name Kay (fathers name or spouse)

There's no Michael born Co. Durham, 1979 on FreeBMD.

Edit: Sorry, he's on Ancestry.

Nor is there any Ruth Kay died 1958.

Hi Anne I found a Michael Kay b. Dec qtr 1979 Darlington his mothers maiden surname was Appleton. There is an Edith C Appleton m. Ernest Kay in 1969 Durham. Not sure if this is who your looking for but the "C" could be Clare

There is a Kay/Appleton marriage but her name is not Clare although middle initial is C.

Clare Appleton/Kay is quite likely still alive.
Where have you looked for her,and what records have you obtained?

The mother looks to be Edith she is on the electoral roll with 2 children up until 2011

still not sure why she would have anything to do with your grandmother with surname Kay......it would only be through marriage
