help with that question does not call for posting the birth and marriage details of people whose children, at least, are undoubtedly still living and don't know they or their parents are being discussed on the internet ......... ?

unfortunately in 1871 he was at boarding school so it is not possible to tell what his father's occupation was on a quick search
it seems unlikely that it was weaver though
however, weaving was an industry in the Salisbury area from the 17th century so there could be a weaving background
I guess it would help if Carol gave more details e.g. did you know the father's line was from Wiltshire and is this why you asked
but mainly I guess you were hoping someone related might see the post
this being something that happens very very rarely.

To find out whether the father was involved in the weaving industry, your should get a copy of one of their birth certs...........
And/or look for the marriage of the parents, and see what the cert says about both of their occupations
