The crews remains were reburied in Jonkerbos War Cemetery Nijmegen in 1953 . Went out there 2 weeks ago and found a note on the grave of Jack Heath next to my Dads and after returning to England posted on here and overjoyed with help that his family contacted me last weekend, so hopefully I will get the same results,from John Horwoods family. If you look on w4960 you will see a face to his name

Looks like the Elizabeth Rebecca of Livingstone Street could be a relative.

Thank you ArgyllGran for finding more information on John Horwood, my father was one of the crew killed on the same Lancaster. So far found 4 families of the crew so would much like to find them all. By the way the web site W4960 was done for me by a very kind Dutchman. I will look on Ancestry in the trees. Like you waiting for the 2021 census to come out, just hope I am still around. Many,thanks once again , you have given me information I didn't know

Flt Sgt Horwood was on board a Lancaster Bomber which never returned from a mission to bomb Dusseldorf, Germany during WW2. He is buried in a communal grave along with the rest of the crew. (Google "W4960" for further info)

Appreciate any help please in finding any relatives of John Harold Horwood in Australia. John was killed in Holland 12th June 1943 , son of Alice Horwood, stepson to James Fury.
