She could take out a 'free' membership so that she can build her tree. Just remind her to keep her current and/or future her email addresses linked to her GR account.
Although she wouldn't be able to initiate contact, a paying member can and she could reply.

Just to add, you can put him on whether he is related or not, just so he is there. You could also add a postem to the birth entry on Freebmd, giving some kind of contact info, such as pointing towards one of the sites you have used.

Hi Jan

Many Thanks for your reply.

I am slowly working through all the different places where I can leave messages. I am actually doing this for a friend so its a bit difficult putting him onto my family tree but I will start one for her when I see her next.

Hi Marion.
Has she registered on the national adoption contact register? If he goes looking for his birth family, he might do the same.
It might be worth asking if you can put her contact details on his adoption file.
And make sure you put him on a family tree on hrre, you never know!
