Welcome to the boards, Paulette,

If you haven't already, add your name to the Adoption Contact Register
https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records/the-adoption-contact-register

If he has as well, the system should match you up. Read the other links on the page as the Law has changed in the last few years. It is now possible for close birth relatives to hire an intermediary agency to access the files. They may be able to trace him under his new name and ask if he wants contact.

Use https://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl and look for the birth reg of Simon M Faulkner. Add a Post'em to the entry, saying something along the lines of Birth mother welcomes contact. Leave a generic email address such as @gmail, @hotmail etc that you'll always be able to access even if you change internet providers.

You haven't yet created a tree on this site. Do so, making sure that both your and his (birth) names are on it. If he or current relatives ever use this site to trace his family, your entry willl come up on a site search. As long as you are still using the linked email address, they will be able to send you a message. All the more reason to never delete your account, just allow your sub to lapse. Paying members can send a message to 'free' members.

It might be worth editting your title to include his birth name. That makes it more likely for this thread being found on an internet search of his birth name. Remember - subscribing members can send messages by clicking on the poster's name.

I am looking for my son who was adopted through an adoption society in Knightsbridge, London. He was born on 26th September 1965 and was registered as Simon Faulkner in Wandsworth.

Can anyone help?

Thankyou
