I am trying to find out what became of the above person. I think he must have met an early death. Is anyone on here able to throw any light on this please?

regards
Jenny

Thank you both. His stepsister heard that he had been in the army and after leaving the army he fell into bad ways which ultimately led to his early death. You have confirmed the death at age 33 - but whatever led up to that please. Maybe never know.
Thanks for your help

The Death certificate would give you cause of death which may give you an idea.

Many a Serviceman can't cope with civvy street when they leave the Forces. It can be a strange world out there - when you are surrounded by people with the same mind set etc and someone has told you what to do for years - and then you have to stand on your own 2 feet. Some get help, many don't or can't.

Thanks greyhost. She may have to do that but that would not show what criminal record he had though and did he have any children

He doesn't seem to have married, at least not in England, Scotland or Wales, so it's not possible to say if he had children or not.

He didn't have any from a marriage, anyway.

If he had any illegitimate children, their births would be registered in the mother's surname - and of course we don't know what that might have been..

You didn't mention in your OP a criminal record, just said he fell into bad ways. Nor whether he married and / or had children.

I checked newspapers that are available online and nothing there, although you could try in what appears to be his home area for more up to date records than are online / papers that aren't covered.

You can use the freebmd site to check if he married - or had children in England or Wales, but not if he isn't named as Father.

If he married or had children abroad whilst in the Army, then again, unlikely to find reference to them. There are 6 Huntington births all with a mmn showing in the FMP British Armed Forces and Overseas Births and Baptisms but no marriages in their
BAF&O Banns and Marriages.

Check ER's in the area he died to see if he was registered there and if anyone was living with him.

You may be able to access his Service records which might show you why he left the Army, did he start to go downhill whilst still serving. They will also show which Regiment or unit he served with and you could find an Association he was a member of or via them, someone who knew him -

He features in trees on Ancestry.

Whether ot not the tree holders actually knew him or just copied information from other trees is hard to say.
