We would like to make contact with any LOGAN descendents of Andrew LOGAN (born circa 1798 in Ireland). He settled in St Bees, Cumberland (now Cumbria) in the UK.

You might be still in Cumbria - sons Robert LOGAN (bpt 1830 at St Bees) and Henry LOGAN (bpt 1833 at St Bees) stayed in the area.

Or you might be descended from:

Thomas LOGAN (bpt 1835 at St Bees), emigrated to Australia, then New Zealand, resident in Dunedin.

John LOGAN (born circa 1841 at St Bees), moved to London, was in the Horse Guards.

Septimus LOGAN (born circa 1874 in the US), lived in Lethbridge area, Canada.

Thanks!

Only if they are members of GR will anyone connected see your message.

Look for names in 'search all member trees' and try making contact through that facility

What research have you done to establish the names of descendants?

Thanks all, we have been researching the family for around twenty years, so have a very comprehensive tree already,

We just want to make contact with those specific branches of the tree. Just throwing it out there, hopefully someone will see it in the future.

I think messages are visible to non-members, and indexed by search engines? I found another LOGAN post before we signed up? (0bviously we couldn’t post ourselves until we were signed up).

Try the BT phone book. Or the Electoral Roll

Hardly anyone uses these boards……………

Why don’t you follow the advice about ‘search all member trees’. That’s your best hope…..being pro-active

You are quite right, non members can see your post. But bear in mind that not everyone is going to want to pay to sign up ( you can’t post an email address) so Erika’s advice to use the search option is the best you can hope for.

If you add a bit of a tree you can also check out the Relatives/ surname summary regularly.

Added: I just put in Logan and Cumberland into all members trees and got several pages.

Yep we did try to contact member ‘Diane’ (who looked to be the most likely) but have had nothing back yet. Will maybe try some others.
