The death certificate would probably give the cause of death if she wanted to know that.

The grand child of George and Beatrice born 1984 is on the 2013 ER. His mother is in the same household until 2004. Will PM the address in case your mother want's to make contact and find out what happened to his father for whom I can't spot an obvious death or recent ER.

Thank you again, Henry Spain was my Mums cousin. she is 86 now and today was talking about her cousins son George who died in the war aged 25. I have lots of details on Henry etc.
I just make sure that I look up any details that Mum remembers and let her know what I can find out. She thought that Georges widow remarried and with the info you have given me I found he had two children. Beatrice went on to have a child with Mr Hannen

Beatrice and George are listed in the London ER in 1947 at 22 Morden Grove, Greenwich.

Beatrice is likely to have remarried in 1948 to a Mr Hannen. Her death

Name:

Beatrice Margaret Hannen
Birth Date: 26 Dec 1921
Date of Registration: Jan 1994
Age at Death: 72
Registration District: Greenwich
Inferred County: London
Register Number: D61
District and Subdistrict: 2291D
Entry number: 3

This *might* be George's birth

Name:George H Spain
Mother's Maiden Surname:Jones
Date of Registration:Jul-Aug-Sep 1922
Registration District:Greenwich
Inferred County:Greater London

Using the MMN of Jones, you could look on Freebmd for any siblings, and the parents ( Henry Spain and Mary Jones) marriage.

WW2 records will still be with the MOD. Unless you are a close relative, its doubtful if they would be released to you. In any event, they would cost £30 and take many months to arrive
