Not sure what info the Forces War Records site will have, but it will not be his Army Service Record. This will still be held by the MOD. Info on how to obtain it is on this site:

http://www.veterans-uk.info/service_records/service_records.html

As Potty said Forces War Records don't hold service records for ww2 here is the link to the collections they do hold

http://www.forces-war-records.co.uk/collections/list/

If you want his service record then follow the link Potty provided they are still held by the MOD and there is a charge of £30

To bypass the verterans site use this link for info and the required forms you will need to fill in and send off

Bob - it might be best to send a PM to Georgina with your information.
As she never replied to the original replies, she may not even know that there is more than one alternative!
