can any one give me some advise please, on a 1901 census on my gran it states army captains wife under occupation, then under relationship to head a number, is this her husbands army number and if it is where can I find out his details from that, I am trying to see if this is my gran and granddad

It doesn't look like an army number to me. Is this a Scottish census? If it is then there is no image to look at on Findmypast to double check.

I thought its to long for an army number, I got that census on here, they were in Scotland at the time
the more i look at it i don't think it is her, her name is Mary young but with me not being able to find anything earlier than 1911 on Scotland's people site thought I'd try a similar first name, never mind. thanks for trying x

The number is nothing like an Army number,

The C1901 at the start of the number leads me to think its linked to the 1901 census in some way

on the 1911 census for her and her husband James young they just said England, and married in Edinburgh in 1900, Mary young born 1880, and james young born 1878, I was trying to find them in 1901 to see if they had put where in England, there 3 children were all born in Edinburgh
