My Dad served in WW1 from 1914- 1916 in Merchant Navy 1916 - 1917 in the Army. I have his service cards the Army card shows his service number the Navy one does not show his number . Without his number I am unable to find out which ships he sailed on. He was awarded 3 medals Army Marine and also the Silver medal as he was wounded in the Army .A member of GR has written that WDYTYA have a list of all Silver medal awards giving all their service numbers and I am hoping some kind person can look and see if there is any more information .Details
Andrew Kelly (no second christian name) born Liverpool 15.08.1895
Army No. 130533 (sometimes 30533) 2.3.1916 - 10.8.1917. Machine Gun Corp
I have tried lots of different avenues to fnd thus number N.A./ Southampton/Canada / Local Records If anyone can give any further advice I would be grateful

I think this may be his merchant navy service record - although I don't think they contain very much information. It is £3.30 to download the record from National Archives:

I've just re-read your post - you refer to silver badge, but I'm not sure if you have this so will PM the image from ancestry altough it doesn't give anything you don't already know.
