~Welcome to the boards.

The best way to contact someone who may have an interest in George is to search all members trees. If anyone has him listed in thiers, use the Find out more button to send a message

Hello Peter and welcome to the Community boards.

I'll let Peter know how to find his way back to his replies. :-)

Hi There

I presume George is an ancestor in your family. He has no connection to me or my family BUT if you are interested enough to research him then you might be interested to know I came across his wwi victory medal some time ago. It has no ribbon or ring but that is very easily sorted out.
If this is of any interest to you then contact me.
Probably best by email. [email protected]

All the best Peter :-)

Peter - no one who has posted on your thread has any connection to George. We are members the same as you, and we're trying to offer assistance.
We now realise that you were trying to reunite a medal with a descendent.

Hopefully someone related will come across this thread one day, and send you a message. It might be best to remove your personal email address as that is considered to be against GRs T&C. Any interested party can send you a message by clicking on your name.

There is a George Tayne listed in some ones tree, all be it a younger generation. It might be worth sending the tree owner a message just in case there is connection.

I am assuming this is his son's death:

England & Wales, Death Index, 1916-2007
George Gordon Tayne
Birth Date: 14 May 1936 Date of Registration: Jul 2001
Age at Death: 65
Registration district: Blackpool Inferred County: Lancashire
Register Number: C9D District and Subdistrict: 5811C Entry Number: 243

George g Tayne appeared to marry Miss Drew.
There are 2 Tayne/Drew births showing on free bmd.

One has an unusual name, and there is a man of that name, approximate correct age, and correct middle initial living in USA
