	Hello, Could anyone tell me if an actual full date of birth is record when they enlist? I am looking for information on my Great Uncle Arthur Hurwood born G/27768 rank of private 1884, in The Middlesex regiment 12 th battalion killed in action 17th Feb 1917 Flanders thank you in anticipation

	Unfortunately not. The closest would be their exact age - years + days Mind you, even that could be a bit 'off'! As the form would be dated, it might be possible to back-work to a dob, but is likely to be a guide for you, rather than gospel

	Glitter baby Was also Dike of Cambridge own I have fond some military record I think it is an award for a medal He is buried in Regina cematary France That was what I was thinking detective thanks

	British Army WWI Medal Rolls Index Cards, 1914-1920 about Arthur Hurwood Arthur Hurwood Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex) Regiment Regimental Number: G/22768 Yes - only the Victory medal awarded. ............. There is a very well documented tree on Ancestry, owner's board name C(with held for privacy) Walker - any connection? Added - actually , although there are a number of documents relating to Arthur attached, the earlier reseach for his parents is a little suspect. If even some of it is correct, John Harwood might not have been his father, hence the difficulty in find the correct birth reg To be fair, the tree is marked up as a Work in Progress :-)

	The tree is his granddaughter We are trying to find his birth I do believe that John Hurwood isn't the father of either Arthur or my great grandmother I was trying to come at a different angle from his military background I am only a beginner !!! Thanks for your input

	No problem - I've cross referenced this thread with the original. Over 60% of WW1 records were destroyed during WW2 bombing - yours is probably amongst them
