Albert Sharp served in Calcutta in WW1

This looks like his medal card from Findmypast, but there are no service records listed so unfortunately his must have been amonst the 70% of WW1 records that were destroyed in a fire in WW2. :-

Granddad Albert G C Sharp served in Calcutta in WW1 won a cup for All India Military Boxing Tournament as a Heavy Weight in Calcutta in 1917 as Pte AG Sharp 1/10 Battalion Middlesex Regiment. Has anyone ever found any records of soldiers who served in Calcutta in WW1.
