Hi
I have found an ancestor on Ancestry in their military section, it is his enlistment document so bascially only gives me his name, age and place of residence at the time. Is there any other form of military record I could look up, how will i know if he died in the war, would this come up on ancestry as well? Any advice on other things I might be able to search for him on would be appreciated.
John Arthur Pearson born 1888, living in Seacombe, Cheshire, enroled in 1914.
Regimental Number: 16862
Regiment Name: KLCB

Thanks
Vicki

Thanks for pointing that out Dee, just realised what you mean and got into image 2, how sad he died after less than 2 years, just waiting for next image to load now, cant beleive I missed the fact there were 12 images to his record.

Very sad that he died......... so many did though. Have a good look through his record, he only had a short life so remembering him is vital.

Dee, June and MB, many thanks for that help, I am amzed at the information we have at our finger tips, although very sad he died so young and so early into his military career, its also fascinating seeing all the documents. I am feeling especially dim over missing the part that said there were 12 images! The info about where he is buried is great, thanks

I've just repeated MB's search at the CWGC site, and clicked on the Carnoy link. It really is a pleasant looking cemetery - one of the nicest I've seen.
