HELP Please.... I'm trying to find details on my Great Grandfather - Arthur John ASHWORTH born c 1896 in Birmingham I think. Father was called Arthur too no further details. He married in 1917 occupation given as Soldier (who wasn't in 1917). Also trying to locate some sort of military record if possible. Cannot find a date of birth or him/his family in the 1901 census. Grateful for any help if possible. Thanks

Margaret did it happen to have his service number on his marriage certificate? If so, have a look on the a2a site and you may find his medal role.

I've just realised you stated that the father's name was also Arthur. There is only one of the right age whose father's name is Arthur..............born in Accrington, Lancs. Reg
