We have searched and searched for my Uncle Walter W., second husband to one of my Mother's sisters. For well over a year progress was absolutely nil despite believing that he was a Bedfordshire man. We had searched census records, Free BMD and other ancestry sites to no avail.
But..............as a long shot, having spotted a possible connection in Genes Reunited, I sent off a message with fingers and everything else crossed! Much to my surprise, I quickly received a return message informing me that, although this member didn't think our Walters were related, he (Shaun M), had taken the time and trouble to help me out! Earlier stabs at other Walter W's had not brought results and other members had not answered!
Not only had he found what we believe to be my Walter and his wife, but his parents and siblings!!
Now how's that for a perfect example of a friendly and helpful GR member?
Consequently, I can certainly recommend Genes Reunited and its comprehensive search opportunities to anyone that is having trouble with locating a relative / ancestor.

Don't give up!!!
