"and now the thread does not exist"
- it was a sticky by genes reunited, about the site being closed for a short time :)

philmoir Report 24 Jun 2011 12:02

Since the release is complete we decided just to remove it. But we learnt a little lesson. :-)

This concerned research in the eighteenth century and was not worthy of a review :-S :-(

Someone / some people are playing silly games.

Gee

Gee Report 27 Jun 2011 22:25

Joy....arent they just 'special'...the person who reports these threads

Phil....can you help with this please?

Joy

Joy Report 27 Jun 2011 22:58

I think that description will do nicely ;-)

Yes, please, Phil :)

how ridiculous!

it looks as though it was a perfectly legit request

Gee

Gee Report 28 Jun 2011 07:39

It was Syl....asking for help back to the 1700s

What worries me is the fact that it will put people off from posting and the boards have been quiet enough recently

Oh dear Ginny

Your thread has just been requested for review again within the last 5-10mins

Some one is playing silly b's

I have a suspect in mind but of course cannot prove it.....well I am sure GR will find out soon enough

This is so frustrating... I wonder if there is some way we can make a formal complaint to GR, I can't think of any grounds why Ginny's thread has dissapeared.

This person/people reporting willy nilly is making a mockery of the site. They hide behind anonymity and nothing seems to be happening.

Did Ginny receive a reason why the thread has been reported probably not. Did the person reporting it have the courtesy of explaining to Ginny why they felt her thread should be removed, probably not.

Apologies if no one else agrees with my vent, I just find this malicious reporting pretty annoying!!!!!!!!!!

:-P :-P

Gracie.... do not offer apologies, if people disagree so be it... but don't make apologies to them... They won't apologise to you for having a different opinion.

You vent away... I <3 a good vent!!

AmazingGrace08 Report 30 Jun 2011 00:15

Thanks Persie, lol no I really feel I am having a grumpy day today! You know when it feels like everything annoys you!

Must just need a glass of red so I can skulk in the corner and mutter to myself!

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 30 Jun 2011 00:56

This really is getting beyond a joke!

and it must also be annoying for Phil and the rest of the Support team

Persephone

Persephone Report 30 Jun 2011 01:00

If someone complains about a thread repeatedly do they have to give a different reason each time they complain....

I have never complained about a thread. I just move on.

jax

jax Report 30 Jun 2011 01:07

If you click as to report you get a choice of

hateful/abusive
Duplicate
Data protection
Other

So what reason anyone could give for Ginnys thread I dont know??

jax

Persephone

Persephone Report 30 Jun 2011 01:18

Jax,

The title on the thread has changed and is not applicable to ancestry.... could this be the reason?

I have put this as my thoughts that this could be the reason on the big thread and elsewhere..

Persie

Gee

Gee Report 30 Jun 2011 06:01

Grace....no I havent had any notice about why the thread has been reported yet again, either from GR or the nasty little person that reported it

Ive sent Phil a message so hopefully he will be onto the case, he must be getting quite bleeped off with it all

So, if the person who is reporting all these none offensive threads would like to send me a PM explaining, I would be happy to reply ;-)
