Well two error messages in under 5 mins.

Strange that Ken mentions "My Threads" as that is exactly what I was trying to do when I got the error messages.

I wonder if people with 20,000 posts and who use "My Threads" a lot are more prone to get these errors.

Not getting any messages at all, but having great difficulty accessing threads/reading posts/ changing pages/posting. Keep getting timed out because Genes is so slow.
Am using Windows Vista & Firefox.

Same error message again today.

Had looked at my Inbox and read a message - gone back to Community and clicked on My Threads and got the error message.

Very odd :-S

Will do. Thank you, Estelle.

Hi Joy,

that is most odd, isn't it? I have been on the boards a bit today and not seen any error messages. The link you posted does give the error message. But we use the same link when you add a reply to a thread and this is working fine for me as I add to threads on here.

We have now released our new baseline code which should see an improvement in performance. However, if this continues then please email me at the technicalhelp address.

Thank you.

And a minute ago, moving away from the general board, I clicked on the suggestions board:

"Not Found

HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found."

But it is here :-S

Estelle, I clicked on the link that you quoted just now and the following appeared:

error message"
was posted 20 Jan 2012 18:33 and I don't know on what I was clicking then.

It happens randomly, most days: accessing the site / changing boards / clicking on a thread / submitting a post / clicking on a message; all browsers used are up to date ie mainly chrome, occasionally firefox.

Hi Joy, you posted this link - http://genesreunited.co.uk/Boards.page/Send. Could you please let me know which are of the site this is on? I have been posting messages and had no problems at all. Do you see the error message every time you post or just when you are trying to add to one particular page?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks, IGP. I am glad you and some others do not experience problems too much :)

However, it can be frustrating when one does experience them one's self (oneself?).

And it is not just the errors but also the speed, or lack of; for instance, while waiting for the site to open I was able to open http://www.thehungersite.com/clickToGive/home.faces?siteId=1 and click in it several times before genes reunited opened.

That's the GR standard timeout message, Joy. It happens whenever the process you have requested is taking too long to complete.

It can happen anywhere within the site and is not linked to a specific action, but more likely to happen when the process is having to sort through a lot of data.

To be honest the only time I got it regularly was when sorting through Surname summary or trying to move to other pages within a very long thread which sort of confirms the theory.
