When is this problem going to get sorted !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This site only works because of the help given by members which you seem to have forgotten about.

Not to me it is not

InspectorGreenPen Report 10 May 2012 18:27

My Threads worked for me ok today but Surname Summary is an absolute disaster, throwing error messages every time I try to move from page to page or perform a sort.

For me and those who are trying to research their tree this is far more important the issues with My Threads.

InspectorGreenPen

InspectorGreenPen Report 7 May 2012 20:36

This isn't a problem with My Threads in particular, but is an issue affecting the entire site because of the sheer amount of data it now has to handle.

In particular, it relates to the amount of data that is connected or related to an action you are trying to do. So if you have a large tree, or have many thread postings, then you are likely to get a timeout error whenever you try to access or sort your attached records.

Once GR get to grips with this then My threads, Surname Summary, etc etc will work properly.

Yes, this is a big problem and needs sorting.

ah!

Maureen ............... that is a problem that several people have reported in the last few days

They have deleted a post/s in a thread, but the thread remains in My Threads.

It seems as if it is a new bug :-|

Darn- I know there is a thread out there about how to delete your participation/post in a thread.

I don't usually delete but Astra had things covered on this:
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/ancestors/thread/1297729

so I thought I'd quickly remove my "snap".

My post is gone but the thread is lingering in "My Threads".

Phil

Thank you for this information ......

I've made this suggestion before ...................

I have hundreds of threads stored in My Threads, like most of the "helpers", and depend on My Threads for getting back to those..

I do NOT however need to keep many of these ..................... most especially the older ones, and ones where the problem has been solved.

Yet I cannot delete any of them, without going back to the thread and deleting my post(s) on there. This is not usually desirable.

My suggestion is ...........

............. Is there a way that you (Chris??) can devise for us to be able to delete a thread from My Threads, without having to delete posts from the thread????
