You can change fonts and colours in Internet Exploer (depending upon which version you are using) by clicking on the Tools menu at the top and selecting "Internet Options".
In the box that opens select the "General" tab and from there you can change colours and fonts at the bottom under "Appearance".
The "Accessibility" button allows you to ignore or override colour and font settings on certain web pages,

Rollo, you never cease to amaze me by your knowledge of obscure techy solutions!

I've just downloaded 'Stylish' but it's telling me to restart Firefox before it installs - however, as I've got 19 windows open at the moment, I'm going to leave it for a while...

Simon :-)

You can set the background to any color you want if using Firefox.

(1) Install the add-on called " Stylish"

(2) then using the @-moz-document rules you can set whatever backgrounds you want.

There is plenty of detailed help on the Stylish web site.

Another program to do this sort of thing is GreaseMonkey but it does not work very well with GRU,

I too have vision problems. The greatest difficulty I have is reading the headings for the threads which are in light green (aqua)? I have no problem with the body of the thread which is in black type.

It is most certainly a definite improvement on the first set-up after the changes last year!!

I've had cataracts removed from both eyes, which improved my severe myopia ............

........... but now find that I need bright light for reading, and this set-up is quite comfortable.

My personal preferences would be for less white on the surrounds, and possibly a very dark brown or very dark green colour for the type

Agreed, Ken, much prefer the current set-up, much cleaner looking and easier to see.

By the way, I am severely myopic, have a slight cataract on one eye and the early signs of glaucoma, so hardly the best of eyesight.....!

The dark green was dreadful for those of us with poor eyesight. The current set up is a great improvement.

Please can you alter the background colour!!. It used to be a dark green. Now we have basically white boxes with family members names in sitting on a white background. i have some sight problems and whole screen seems to be glaring at me!!

How about making background a pastel colour or even the family member boxes something slightly different in colour??? Please can some thought be given to those whose eyesight is not perfect!

NB i dont seem to have this problem with other websites!
