Both men and women lied about their ages ............... on censuses, in applications, on marriage, etc etc.

It's an age old thing!



But, as Ken said, this would be much better posted on Genealogy Chat

Please would you delete the question on this board and repost it on the Genealogy Chat board. You will get more answers there and this board is supposed to be for suggestions for improvements to the site.

The answer to your question is basically yes, but some discrepancies are caused by transcription errors rather than lies.

Would men have lied about their age years ago.. I mean maybe they lied to get work or the like, has anybody else stumbled on this with their relations? :-S
