Hi

Yes that is him on the census of 1911. Thank you so much Janet H for finding this, I could not find him at all.

Hi

Does this mean that he actually died during ww1 or just that he got some medals.

Thank you

Could this be the daughter's marriage? If so it looks like they were still in Middlesbrough.

Yes this is the family, I believe he died whilst my grandmother Gladys was only young because she had half siblings but don't know if her mother remarried Thomas Briggs or just lived with him. The tree which shows them is from the Briggs side of the family but she can't provide any info.

Yes this is children born with Thomas Briggs. My nanas natural sibling Dorothy married several times then died in the 40's and my nana passed away in the 90's and sadly I was not interested in family history then so never really asked any questions.

Hi

I have looked through ancestry and commonwealth war graves site for death registered and used service numbers to find death but still cannot trace anything, He received a war medal in 1915 and I have looked and I cannot find a death registered after 1916.

Could he have died in the war and it was not registered, I know his wife went on to have further children in 1920, on ancestry there is a family linked but it is with the further siblings from 1920.

Any advice is greatly received.

Thank you Angela
