Greeting's Again Elaine.... Ummm .....Thinking aloud here.... Blisworth Northamptonshire...Was a birth place ?...... ' Stoke Bruerne ' ( Canal Museum ) comes to mind.... Seeing it's only 3 miles from Blisworth maybe that's where the Owner of the Boat operated from ? If you type ' Stoke Bruerne' into your search engine then there is loads of links to interesting sites...... Then a letter to see if they might have lists of old owners ? MIKE. Have

Hi Mike Thanks for your e-mail, need to pick your brains again. Have been talking to someone who specialises in the waterways and she suggested that the company my gggrandfather worked for may have owned houses in Foundry Lane as similar happened in Birmingham when mothers did'nt want to be on the boat when they were about to give birth. If this is right then it gives me the name of the company my William worked for which I could find out by looking at electoral rolls. I have'nt got a clue where to start and thought you would know. We are looking at 1861 I would guess before and after, Elaine

*** FOR THE ATTENTION OF GERALDINE *** Greeting's Again...... I spoke to a Old Scout Friend this afternoon Who was born in and is still living in Copt Oak... He told me that when he was a Church Steward There was a full survey of the graves within the Graveyard and the list was passed onto the Vicar...... So best start writing I think... He also said that ' Warner ' was a old Markfield family name. MIKE.

I'll have to see if any of the family know more! Unfortunately as you see below Ashby reg district covered quite an area - I have looked at parish registers (or at least those at the library) for the most likely ones near Coalville/ Whitwick. Ashby-de-la-Zouch Created 1st July 1837. Mainly in Leicestershire, but included parts of Derbyshire. Sub-districts : Ashby-de-la-Zouch; Hartshorn; Measham; Whitwick.
