Pleased to see this is going so well!! Can anyone give me the photo website name that was mentioned on the tips board a few weeks ago? It was something like photoarc but I've tried that and it didn't work! I didn't add it to my favourites and now I need it!!! Thanks Eleanor xx

Its a rootsweb site and its name varies for where you are searching but if you have discovered BATCH NUMBERS as a resource on familysearch you will love the site that you can find, on any search engine, where, if you search for "igi batch numbers Northumberland" (or Wherever) and the scroll down the resulting page, ...hey presto you can find the numbers of ALL the churches in EVERY town in this country. Try it! - ITS BRILL!!!! mike :-)

The WWW.gendex.com/gendex site is useful in seeing if your names are linked in with anyone else's tree.

Unless I've missed it, no one has mentioned www(.)bt(.)com...Several times I have looked up all the people with a certain name still living in the village/town where ancestors did. Then I snail mail them at the address given with a letter of enquiry. Only 1 in 10 reply but I have had some real luck this way.

A good site to look up birth, marriage and death lookups is freebmd.org.uk it is not complete yet but holds transcriptions of indexs for 1837 to about 1909 at moment, but are trying to complete up to 1987. They are always looking for volunteers to help with transcription. Update i think they have changed their address to http:/freebmd.rootsweb.com/

Don't know if this is listed already (don't have time to check--running off to work): http://www(.)rat(.)de/kuijsten/navigator/usa/index(.)html It is a surname navigator ("multilple database mega search"). Click on the country you want, enter surname, sites pop up (takes a few seconds), research away.
