News from Tynemouth William Armstrong was born 30th May 1909 in Amble Northumberland. According to Artillery but on his Marriage Certificate it says he was 22 so born in 1911. I shall try and get to Berwick RO to confirm which year he really was born. William's Father was a Randall Armstrong. Randal married in June Q 1903 in Alnwick Northumberland. His Wife is Isabel Fisher. Randal Armstrong was born in March Q 1870 in Bellingham Northumberland to Peter Armstrong and Mary ? I would imagine they married in Scotland. I have found them on the 1871/81/91 and 1901 Census. Peter Armstrong was born c 1840 in Scotland. Mary ? Northumberland. They children were William born 1858 Scotland. James born 1863 Scotland, Margaret born 1864 Scotland, Grace born 1866 Scotland. Wilhelmia (Minnie) born 1869 Northumberland. Randal born 1870 Northumberland. I have spoken to Rachel on the telephone today and we have exchanged numerous emails. Rachel has also found these following Births which we think may be Williams Siblings. Isabella and Thomas Henry may be Twins of Randal Armstrong and Isabella Fisher. Peter Armstrong Born 1906 Alnwick, WILLIAM ARMSTRONG born 1910 Alnwick. Grace Fisher Armstrong born 1912 Alnwick. If my Husband can, he will take me to Berwick on Tweed Records Office tomorrow or Friday to check these Births out. But I am not making any promices. I have rushed this posting because Hubby is waiting to take me out for a couple of hours. But thought you would all be waiting to see what we have found. Will be back later. Jenny.

Hello All, Maggie, thanks for the information about “MY LIFE MY WAR” By Bernard Hallas. I’ll have not read it all yet but it does look interesting. I thought the best thing to do now is to give an update. Finding out all about Patricia and her family was not likely to be that easy or quick. I think that to date, we have all done very well. There is bound to be down time while waiting for certificates and or email replies and also following up leads which may or may not be dead ends. Win will be searching the Parish Archives on Thursday and I hope the records of the Cardiff Rural District minutes, June 1943 are available for me to view tomorrow at the GRO. Roy Harris who I have been trying to contact is living in America. He is the grandson of Arthur Harris and was over here visiting recently. While visiting he did search for Patricia's grave but I don't think he found it. Again, we believe that Patricia’s friend is still in contact with him. Win will tell her next time they speak that we are trying to contact him. He will also ask if she or Roy has a photo of Patricia so a face can be put to her name. Again many thanks for all your help, encouragement and interest shown. “She is not alone” Bye for now. Paul

I just thought the same thing! How about those Harris Boys? Although they might not want to recall such a shocking time in their lives either. This story is so interesting and I am checking back frequently!! Patricia seems to have found a place in all our hearts!!
