Hi Vicky,
No, this are not the correct J/Mc Carthy. I know they are on the 1881 cencus living at 5, St Johns Place Horselydown. But after that I can`t find them anywhere. John`s siblings were Catherine 1874 & Edward 1877. His parents were James 1845 born horselydown his father was John & Mary a McCarthy as well who was born in Stepney 1n 1849/50. Her father was Denis.

Hi Stephen,

How old was Marjorie on the certificate? I could have a look for her birth which would have her mother's maiden name on, then I could look for a marriage between a Hanson and that name.

The problen could be that if any of the births/marriages took place in Scotland, they will be on a different database of which I don't have access.

Let me know and I will have a look for you.

Thanks,

Vicky

Hi John, I except the test!

I can't find Margaret's birth,was her name misspelt? I can't find any children until these in 1922:

Births Mar 1922 (99%)
Cummins Hilda M Belcher Chipping N. 3a 1962
Births Jun 1924 (35%)
Cummins Charles F A Belcher Chipping N. 3a 1793

Any ideas of spelling differences, let me know,

Vicky

Hi Vicky,
Re McCarthy, None of the McCarthys you sent me are the correct ones, but I have the 1881 cencus of James & his family living in Horselydown Surrey living at 5 St Johns Place. But I can`t find James born in 1845 in any of the cencus`s up until 1881. Did I mention sometimes McCarthy was spelt with a space between the `c`s Mc Carthy. Sorry to be a nuisance. Angie
