Henry Daw (Heindrik Daue)

I am trying to find any information on my great grandfather Henry Daw born about 1843 in Denmark. I think that his proper name was Heindrik Daue but it got changed over the years. He was a sailor and jumped ship in Cardiff (possibly) and could never go back to Denmark. He married Ellen McCarthy - she came from Ireland. I would be gratefull for any information.
